Regional Event

Recently I got in touch with the BMW club to try to ressurrect our regional event at Tatton Park that we used to have each year, over the years attendences had dropped due to poor planning and organisation(not the current committee).

In the end our committee decided not to hold the regional event with the BMW club at Tatton Park partly because the numbers that they had turning up far exceeded ours and it was felt that it was a bit embarrassing.

BMW club is quite willing to still hold joint events at Tatton Park with PCGB, Porsche Cente Wilmslow is quite willing to help us with an event if it is within range of the Wilmslow such as Tatton Park.

Post on here your thoughts about Tatton Park or any other venues you have in mind, if we don't express any interest to the committee in an annual Regional event we will end up with nothing.

As some of you will know I was one of the original organisers with Jeff from the BMW Car Club and we had some fantastic shows year in year out.
The first couple of years Porsche numbers swamped BMW considerably - but it took a lot of organising and help from the committee (Stuart included and a certain Chris Clark!)
I definitely think it should be resurrected, but 'committed' planning needs to start right now!
The region should only have one Concours "" the "˜Fun' Club Night Car Park Concours should be dropped as it dilutes the event. There are a lot of avid suppliers and supporters out there "" but the Region has to make the effort to make it work and NOT be an embarrassment as the last debacle turned out to be.
It will work "" and the Region, as one of the biggest should be able to showcase its wares!
I may even have another Porsche by then!
Go for it!

I'll second that Graham.

I only went to the event once - its second year - and I found the event very good indeed, with far more Porsches than Beamers. And both clubs were full of enthusiastic members.

Another plus is that Tatton Park is and excellnet venue that will please the ladies too. The grounds are superb and I could even get my little spaz mobile around without a problem!

I'd support this, Tatton central to the region and at least there is a cafe etc for families, so thumbs up from me.

It would be great to see the Tatton event back to a reasonable size. In recent years there have been fewer and fewer trade stands matched by less attendees. Great shame for what should be a superb event.

I wonder if the timing has something to do with it - as its just verging on Autumn and it's nearly always raining!

But I'll be there if it's on again!
