Red may be the fastest colour, but...

Some would have us believe that red is the fastest colour (though we must assume they are misguided Italian 944 owners). But given that 4 Star Classics have just sold that nice standard Turbo for nearly £11k, can we all agree that white is the most expensive colour!?!

(Annoyingly the previous owner of that car turned down my offer of about £7k before later accepting a lower bid from the garage! To be fair he did come back to me, but by that time I'd found an alternative.)

Nope, red is fastest and still commands a higher price with SPS / Perfectbore / BB turbo spec.........[8|]

an investment, which will mature when the population of 951's reduces slightly further

I hope

In the meantime, a pretty useful daily driver which will cost less to run than an Audi A4, even if I throw it away after 5 yrs

Black lads every time !

Red is for the Eyetalians, Silver for Mercs and BRG for Jags and the like, so Black it is...End Of [:)]

Though it shows every mark and is a sweary word to keep clean.....................but it does not turn pink (trying to be a Silverose) ?

Ducks for cover [;)]

How about a Colour Poll?

To see what most popular colour is (Red?) and most uncommon (rarest?).

Alan.

Do you mean the most popular colour or the most common colour? Two very different concepts.

The most common colour was almost certainly the most popular colour when cars were being ordered new 20-30 years ago, when the colour choices were being made, but the most popular colour now, as in the one that is most sought-after, could be very different.

You would have to ask, in an anonymous poll,
a) which of the full list of factory colours is your car
b) in an ideal world, which would you like if you were able to wave a wand and magic your car any of those colours

Has anyone done a poll of what colours we drive? We did it on MK1 Golf forum, the stats are still there. We all thought red was the most popular but surprisingly even white has double the numbers!

Saying that, if we do a poll we may find there's a new fastest colours, maybe we should leave it be![:D]

Very generous of you George. Thanks [:D]

Ben, it would be of no interest to you, having become accustomed to 150bhp per wheel, you would think it was a Prius.

and - I could not part with it[:)]

Glad to hear it to be honest. I think I am feeling true love for a car for the first time since my Black 3.2. I got offered a 550hp X50 with lower mileage, a perfect history and all the right mods by a tuner a few months ago. I had just had a clean bill of health on my car so I decided to keep it and pay him twice the difference in value (which I will never recover) on upgrading my car instead. It was a move from the heart rather than the head.

Something about black cars for me.

Maybe one day I can assist your possession of a black car with a gearbox behind and engine ahead.......you might fall head over heals for it[8|]

Good luck and lets get back on thread before we get reminded
