Red convertible roof

Good morning, I’m considering buying a 992 convertible with a red roof. Anyone had experiences of maintaining a red roof? On all my convertibles I’ve always had standard black and have a slight concern about how it ages and keeping it looking clean…thank you.

Me again, my Boxster which is now 4 years old has a red roof and I've not really had to do anything special to keep it looking good.

Having had a lot of convertibles I generally follow the same process which is to use a vacuum cleaner on it every few weeks to get the dust and dirt out, clean any mess off from birds and trees etc. as soon as I notice it with soapy water and only wash it now and again not every time the car is cleaned.

Over time if it starts to loose its hydrophobic properties I'll treat it with something like Fabsil which seems to work quite well and of course if you can keep it out of the sun or bad weather that will help keep it in good condition as well. The only other thing I was told years ago is never leave the roof down for long periods as it can shrink and crease but that might be before the current materials were widely available so might not be such an issue today.

Hello, thanks very much for your thoughts and advice

I have a red roof on my 981S which is 12 years old. It is still in great condition with very little maintenance. I love the red roof and would buy a red roofed car again.
