Rear wheel drive every day?

I drove a 992 C2S at the Silverstone Experience Centre last December in wet and windy conditions. I was amazed at the levels of grip on the track and could not get the rear to slide unless the traction control was turned off. The only problem was launch control when the rear tyres would spin but who uses that on the road. Doing an emergency stop in the wet from 80 miles an hour and the car stopped in a dead straight line in seconds.

If I decide to buy a 911, I would not be limited to four wheel drive. Drive both on UK roads and make an informed decision.

Beershark, Many thanks for your reply. I have a Macan GTS and Suzuki Ignis. I hardly use the Macan. My budget is probably rebuilt engine 997.1, or 997.2 C2 or C2S. AWD versions of the same are elusive. Is there an all season tyre? I had an M2 Competition but never got round to fitting the winter wheels and tyres I had for it.
I saw a very interesting video comparing the 2 and 4 wheel drive with tyres as I have mentioned before, on my GTS I have 20" and I can't get Porsche Approved winter tyres.... So I am now even more cautious after watching said review. Winter tyres actually are detrimental to handling in temps above 10 or 12 degrees. I think all weather tyres are the key, with decent tread for the rain.

If a C4 comes up with the right spec then I would go for it, otherwise go for the C2, after all you have the Macan for the much poorer weather...
