Rear view mirror, dip lever missing.

I have a Macan S (MY20) with the 'manually' dipping rear view mirror. The lever to dip the mirror is now missing, not sure when or how, and this makes the mirror loose, but still useable. My OPC in Cambridge says this isn't a warranty issue as and I quote 'a lever and subject to wear and tear'. Has anyone else seen this issue? If so was it fixed under warranty.
