Rear screen not folding nicely

I have to pull my rear screen straight half way down so that it doesn' t kink. Is there a way of resolving this? I thought the Hindsight product would have made it more supple, seems to be more supple, but I still get the problem.

Welcome to the Boxster!

You have discovered the " Karate Chop" ... detailed in your owners manual, courtesy of Porsche! [;)]

A Boxster Characteristic!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!

I bought my Boxster S new 2 years ago. The problem is always there and you need top stop the hood half way to apply the proverbial " karate chop" - my wife' s an expert .

The only time I did not need to do this was after parking the car in the sun on a hot summers day. The heat made the rear screen very supple and it folded by itself.

PS. I use the Porsche rear screen cleaner and provided you follow the instructions exactly, it is very good.

Yes, I agree with Ron Higgins. I have a friend with Boxster in Canada and in the summer it is always very warm where he lives. No problems there with rear screen folding! The thing just does what it is ment to do. I just hate having to get out with the hood half way down to " chop" the screen into submission.

Anyone out there with a remedy that works? Apart from taking my car to a warmer climate.
