Rear PASM strut

I noticed my 2012 991 with PASM has a worn rubber bushing / whatever it is at the top of the rear strut! How important is this? Will it cause an MOT failure? No other symptoms noticed when driving.

It looks as though the lining of the spring seat is breaking-up around the edge, but if you’re not noticing any knocks then probably it’s intact beneath the spring. I doubt that it would result in an MOT failure, but I suppose you could get an advisory notice depending upon how fussy the tester is.

It shouldn’t be an expensive fix, especially if you get a reputable local Porsche Independent to do the job, and probably it’ll be worth replacing the seat on the other side.

Difficult to get in there but just double check that top/end of spring hasn’t snapped off and the resulting sharp edge isn’t chafing the foam seat? Usually the foam disintegrates more with age. Deffo advisory at least.

I'd suggest getting a price from your OPC with your club discount.

Design911 aren't the cheapest...esp as you need to add p&p AND VAT to that price...
