Rear pads

I've just replaced the rear pads on my 2.7. The pads were quite worn and the pad worning light was illuminated on the dashboard. I 've put them all back together bar one set of warning wires on the pads as the ends were damaged. The problem is that the warning light is still lit on the dash. I then unplugged each electrical connector in turn by each rear wheel to try and find out which one is causing me problems, but still the light remained on. The front pads are quite new and have hardly any wear. Could I unplug all 4 warning connectors on each wheel to find out which one is playing up? I'm not sure how the circuit is wired?

I think if you remove the wear sensor the light will illuminate. I can only think it is a feature to warn the driver if the wire is severed. If all the remaining 3 wear sensors are intact then try replacing the missing one.
 
Yes that's how the system works, its just a simple circuit that illuminates the warning light when it is broken (by one of the sensors being worn right through and severing the wire)

If you leave a sensor out then the light comes on.

You can circumvent the system by just twisting the faulty wire together then keeping an eye on your brake pads yourself.
 
Thanks for the help, it turned out to be open curcuit as suggested. The problem is now fixed.
 
Indeed there is i said i usually use euro car parts with 25% off because like most folk j have a permanent 25% off code and therefore i usually find them competitive :)

The extra 6% is of course a bonus !
