Rear demister not working on 1987 944 Lux . . . .

. . . . am a complete novice, so any ideas of where I should start to look for the fault would be much appreciated! (the light on the button does come on, by the way!)Thanks

Gas struts are usually a good starting point for rear delisted. The circuit runs through them. Check connectors at the screen and at the struts. Also check continuity through the struts with a multimeter.

Check your struts are on the correct side and the right way around. The struts body should attach to the hatch not the body. The strut with the bare metal end goes on the drivers side.
Do your interior lights work properly - ie go on and off when doors/hatch open and close? Its all linked.

Thanks, if it ever stops raining here in Leeds, I'll get out to the car and see what I can see!

Well, turns out I either have nothing getting to the struts, or cannot use a multimeter: either are entirely possible. Will get the advice of the friend whose multimeter it is!
Cheers, Howard
