After removing my hardtop on my 04 986 about a month ago I assumed that the glass rear window would demist just like the hardtop does!
Anyway been using the car recently for work so early starts and that ment a misty rear window last week. Pressed the dash button and nothing happened!! I assumed it would demist but obviously not.
I looked where the pin plug is for the hardtop to slot in but trying to find the softop harness?? Where is it?? I assume I have to plug that in too if I can find it.
Can anyone point out where it should be? Is it behind something or is it stashed out of the way when not in use? If anyone has a pic of their harness position so ad to identify where mine is it would be appreciated.
I hope I have one somewhere hidden so I don't have to buy one!!
Thanks in advance all👍

On my 987 I unplug the soft top screen and plug in the hard top. When I remove the hard top I reverse the procedure. Not easy to get at the socket but have a look for a dangling cable

I seem to remember it was described in the handbook, if you have one. It’s 16 years since I had mine and I remember plugging in the soft top heated rear window wasn’t quite as obvious as you would think, but definitely there and in the same area as the hardtop connector.

Should be behind the seatbelt on either left or right side, depending on LHD/RHD. There might be a plastic cover over it that you can remove.

Panic over guys...it was plugged in immediately behind the pin socket shown in the above my pic. It's the same shape etc and the lead is just long enough to plug straight in. I hope it's not for something else but its to much of a coincidence as to were it is🤞
