Raising a 944 in a quicjjack

Hi,
I have a set of quickjacks that I have used on my 987 Cayman a fiesta and my wife's TT. There is a measuring guide on the quickjacks website that should help you figure out whether it will fit but I am sure they will have one that does.

Thanks for the info. I will check it out. I am hoping the quickjack will make it much easier to work on the car. I'm fed up with trolly jacks and axle stands.

I'll be interested to see how you get on as QJ is an option I'd been looking at. I imagein you can use the lift points as they will all get equal pressure akin to a 2 post lift. You shouldn't jack the car on individual lift points, that much I do know.
I thought I'd got a great deal on a QJ on ebay last month but it turned out ot be a scam. PP refunded very quickly, nothing ventured and all that.
I can't fit a 4 post so it's this or a scissor lift but even then I don't have a lot of height and the QJ are easier to store. There's a thing called MAx jax in the US which is a removable, short, 2 post lift. It's a bit of a hassle to fit initially as you need good foundations and threaded mounting points but again it is removable.
 
Doesn't Eldavo have one of these? I think people have bought them from Costco, when there's been a cheap deal on them too. Quite tempted myself for the right price.
 
Thanks for all your post. Useful stuff. I too don't have the hight for a pillar lift so a scissor lift seems a good compromise. I was really looking for some something portable but the Max Jack looks good. Seems like some more research required.

I have a set of Quickjacks & my 944 has been resting on them for longer than I care to admit. On the highest setting, I can comfortably use my creeper to move in & out under the car without issue.
If I had known about the Costco deal, I would have purchased via them. Depending upon the work you intend doing to the car and if you need the extra height, the additional height blocks are a worthwhile extra as are the hooks for when the units are not in use.

Same - got them from Costco for about £900 ish when they were on offer. I hang them on the wall on some generic brackets from B&Q - think the wall fixings cost more than the brackets. Have had a connector replaced under warranty but apart from that all good. I powere them with a NOCO jump pack.
 
Max jax are a great piece of kit but as pointed out the floor requirements are very specific ( and for good reason). They are also fiendishly expensive to get over here- well over £5k when I priced them up. You can get low height 2 post 4 tonne lifts for well under £2k now. You lose the ‘portability’ of the MaxJax but with an extra £3k still in your pocket to spend on tools, the car and any other essential, it puts a different spin on things.
A mid rise scissor lift will run you the same sort of money or more but doesn’t give the same level of access to the underside as a two poster or even the quickjacks. It really depends on what kind of work you intend doing.

I have used a Quickjack since they were introduced to UK some years ago. Super handy piece of equipment that I have used on my classic cars and my Boxster. The equipment is made in the USA so expect quality! They have a UK distributor which is handy for advice or spares. As the equipment runs along the sill area using the jacking points it gives you great access to underneath vehicle and with wheels removed gives access to suspension. Height is around 22". I wouldn't recommend scissor jacks as they restrict underbody access. The basic 3500LB model should be OK for your 944 but check weight and distance between jacking points against spec available from Quickjack UK
