Radiator Grilles - Updated Thread

I have the Zunsport grilles on my GTS however I haven't told my insurers. The ones you need to have on your side are your service guys and girls at your OPC.

Believe it or not, Porsche do not like folk adding the grilles as they claim they reduce airflow to the condensors/radiators and, as a result, may void your warranty however, Mine has been in for warranty work and nothing has ever been said. If you car needs to go in for work and you're a little concerned then you can always take them off.

I'd also suggest taking them off and cleaning the condensers of detritus in the spring.

For peace of mind it is probably worth contacting your insurance company and telling them. Given that some insurers are getting awkward with things such as PPF, I would invite the disussion now rather than at the time of a claim. Of course, I would not expect it to make any difference to your cover or your premium.
Wondered about insurance but currently having a new back of OPF X-pipe system fitted and will have to tell them about that so will also mention the grilles at the same time.

Enquired about this on Friday questioned the fitment of grills on a approved car ..told no issues, my issue is they don't look right outside of the slats inside fine..
I agree about fitment, I bought a small roll of black expanded aluminium mesh, removed the front bumper (relatively simple job) and cut the mesh to fit behind the slats then secured with a thin cable tie at each end. The alloy mesh can be cut with a decent pair of scissors. With the bumper off, you can also clear any debris from between the A/C condenser and the radiator).

Check here, https://www.expandedmetalcompany.com/applications/automotive/car-grilles for examples.

I had some mesh left so did the engine air intake too. Again, easy to remove if done the correct way (not by brute force as seen on YouTube...).
If anyone is interested in more details about bumper and air intake removal, please reply to this message and I will put something together.
