R4 use WhatsApp as a way of providing quick and convenient messaging between Members and sharing information about upcoming events that are listed on the website. Each event also normally has a dedicated group that is set up by its organiser - these are removed once the event is complete and participants have had an opportunity to share images from the event.

Any existing R4 Member can join the general chat and events groups. If you're a Member of an adjoining region, or joining us for a specific event, then we can add you to the events group if you email us at r4@porscheclubgb.com and include the following:
  1. Your Full Name
  2. The mobile phone number associated with your WhatsApp account
  3. The Region that you're registered with (R7, R5 etc)
  4. Your PCGB Membership number
  5. Your car(s)
Member Tags

If you haven't set up your WhatsApp account so that it displays your name instead of only your phone number, or you use a nickname, then you'll need to add your name in a Member Tag (details of how to do this are included in our Terms and Conditions of use, set out below).

If your listing automatically shows your name, then please use your Member Tag to show your Region / Car - this helps everyone in the groups to know who they're chatting with.

PCGB R4 COMMUNITY – WHATSAPP GROUP TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

To keep our community friendly, respectful and enjoyable for everyone, please take a moment to read and follow the group rules:

1. Be respectful – Please treat all members with courtesy and respect. No personal attacks, bullying, discrimination or offensive behaviour.

2. Let others know who you are – Some people are members of multiple WhatsApp Groups and don’t automatically display their name. Group member tags allow users to add more information about themselves or their role in a group. If your listing does not display your name then you should add it as a tag along with either your region or your Membership number. Otherwise please add your region (R4, R7 etc) and your membership number - ‘anonymous’ members will not be allowed to remain in the chats (See point 10 below).

Full details of how to add you own Member Tag can be found HERE

3. Keep it relevant – Please keep conversations and posts related to the purpose of the community. Avoid excessive off-topic content.

4. No inappropriate content – Offensive, abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate content, images or videos will not be permitted.

5. Members’ issues & GDPR – Individual member issues, complaints, personal matters or disputes must not be discussed on this WhatsApp group or on any other PCGB channel of communication, including Facebook, forums or other Club communication platforms. For privacy, confidentiality and data-protection reasons, any matter relating to an individual member must be dealt with privately through the appropriate PCGB channels and with the relevant person or Club representative.

6. Privacy matters – Please respect everyone’s privacy. Do not share your own or another member’s personal information, contact details, private conversations or photographs without appropriate permission.

7. Events and activities – Please use the appropriate channels for event information, bookings, questions and updates wherever possible. This helps keep communication organised and ensures everyone receives the correct information.

8. Admin decisions – Administrators reserve the right to remove inappropriate posts and, where necessary, remove members who breach the group rules or the PCGB Code of Conduct.

9. Leaving the group – Please be aware that if you leave the WhatsApp group, you will automatically be removed from the chat. If you have left accidentally and wish to re-join, please use the appropriate PCGB channels to request access again and provide your PCGB membership number so your membership can be verified.

Thank you for helping us keep the community welcoming, respectful and enjoyable for everyone.

By remaining in the group, you agree to follow these rules and the relevant PCGB policies and Code of Conduct.

Thank you
