R16 Club Nights

Hi Rich
This is the most recent news from Stuart and Elaine on venues:

'Porsche Club Region 16 New Venue for June

In response to some of our members, also an idea we have been thinking of, we will be alternating the Club nights between the existing Cross Hands Hotel Old Sodbury and a new venue The Huntsman Inn, Bristol Road Falfield Gloucestershire GL12 8DF. T: 01454 260239

The Huntsman is in a good location just off the M5 for our members from Bristol, Stroud, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

Alternating venues is not new to our region as it has been done before some years ago and with regular reminders it should not be too confusing and hopefully they will both be well attended.'

So The Huntsman in August and Cross Hands in September

Thanks Peter. Can anyone expand on the meeting dates and which of the venues for the next few monthly evenings? Many thanks.

Hi Rich,

This is from another thread on our forum.
Regards Stuart

Because of our large area we are currently alternating our monthly meeting venue between

Cross Hands Hotel, Tetbury Road, Old Sodbury, Bristol, Gloucestershire, BS37 6RJ

The Huntsman Inn, Bristol Road, Falfield, Wotton Under Edge GL12 8DF

June 18, August 20, October15 and December 17 will be at the Huntsman Inn, Falfield

July 16, September 17 and November 19 will be at the Cross Hands Hotel Old Sodbury

Thanks Stuart, will try to get to the August meeting.

P.S. Check your email. I think Barrie wants PCGB to secure a date for Prescott Breakfast Club next year.

Hello All,
Wednesday 20th is Club night at the Huntsman Inn, Falfield.
Bristol Road, Falfield, Wotton Under Edge GL12 8DF
This will be the second time at the Huntsman and we hope it will be as well supported as last time.
Martin should have some discounted tickets for the Prescott American Autumn Classic that is on our calendar for October 4th.
We will have Porsche parking as usual along with members from TIPEC. This is a fantastic event held on our doorstep with lots to see and
do, along with the final round of the Porsche Club Speed Championship.

Thank you for your support with the OPC Tewkesbury open day and our show and shine. The event was well attended, Leon and his team were very impressed
with the turnout and the variety of models that were there and we look forward to a good relationship with them.
For a few of us it was great to get behind the wheel of the Club's 356 and take it for a spin around the Tewkesbury countryside, it really is an amazing car and
a great asset to the club.

Something I have been thinking of and mentioned it to a couple of members on Saturday is the possibility of a limit handling course / track day.
I have spoken to Gary Marsh today and he is looking into the possibility of a number of members sharing his tuition for the day. The venue is
Abingdon Airfield and you will have to book the track day with a company called Motorsport Events. The date looks to be November 14th @ £130 with 100db noise limit,
on top of that will be Gary's cost. I did this same course a few years ago with Gary and I can't recommend it highly enough. I should have some more details by Wednesday.
I would normally promote Porsche Club track days but they don't do this type of course.

Hope to see you at the Huntsman
Regards Elaine and Stuart

I really must pay more attention !!!
I've done a 84 mile round trip to the Huntsman tonight to find a very empty and boring car park ,but would like to find out more about tuition at Abingdon
Cheers Tony
