February 2008

The Hadley Bowling Green Inn on the Last Tuesday of the Month.

Situated on Hadley Heath, near Ombersley. Post Code is WR9 0AR. This is a well- known country establishment, with a large, good car park and within easy reach and is usually well attended.

The Royal Oak, Much Marcle. Instead of The Trumpet

For the time being, we shall meet here until further notice, on the Third Monday, at around 8pm.
------------
We have around 250 Members in this Region as against around 850 in Region 9, West Midlands but, well done, in February we had more attending at the Bowling Green Inn, than they did. Keep it up.

The Royal Oak is just about being maintained by a few stalwarts. As this was the original Regional Area, I would like to see the old enthusiasm renewed and make it worthwhile travelling 35 miles to get there for us.

Please Note

Karting Is now changed to Friday 18th April. An evening session. There is no food, only drinks. It is often cold, so wrap up. With Aston Martin Owners Club as usual, a greatly enjoyed event and usually there are a few Jaguar Drivers Club members hanging on. Try to be there by 6.30 pm for briefing.

Places are filling up, it will be first come, first served, therefore now I cannot guarantee a place. However, if you wish to come, please send me a cheque for £35.00 made out to "C.T.Snowdon" as soon as possible and I will at least, put you on the reserves. The cheque will not be cashed until your place is confirmed.

Shelsley Walsh

This has been moved to Bank Holiday Monday, the 5th of May. We shall have our usual spot, which will be marked by our Region banners etc. As this is a Porsche Championship Event, I have also invited the Porsche Enthusiasts Club, so we should have a good crowd.

Curborough.

Thursday afternoon on the 8th May. Be there by noon, we have to finish at 6pm, latest. Last year, we were sponsored, we cannot always expect this, so this time, the cost will be £25.00 per car. You should get eight or so goes, so this is still very good value. There is a limit of 30 cars, that is the first 30 booked on the day, when you can pay. Spectators are welcome, no cost. Hopefully the food wagon will be there as last year, at modest cost. Remember, we have to pay for the Track and any extra over will be donated to the Air Ambulance as last year.

Concours

On Tuesday the 24th June, I have advertised a "Show Night", as we had last year, with a good turn out. If you wish to change this to an official Regional Concours, then bombard me in your thousands and I will make arrangements. Otherwise, it will be Air-cooled against Water-cooled. See photo of last year's event.

Forthcoming Events.

Tuesday 25th March, at The Bowling Green Inn,
A talk by Michelin on tyres etc. Please, turn up as many as possible to make it worthwhile our Michelin representative coming.
