R10 DOTM London Landmarks at Dawn - Sunday 9th June 2019

Hi Mark we would like to take part in your drive at dawn on 9th June if there’s still a place.
This is of course subject to the alarm waking us in time!

Rob and Mary (newbies)

Hi Rob and Mary,
You will be very welcome and are on the list... still spaces available for others too.
Please email me as per my original post on this event, so that I can communicate privately with you when the time comes.
Cheers.
Mark

This post is for those who have indicated they are coming - with 12 cars booked, the EVENT IS NOW FULL.

Those booked are as follows:
Myself + Tony Farmer
Manuel + 1
John & Kim Bray
Les & Pam Northover
Dave & Lindsey Crowley
Neil Welch & Sara
Andrew JB
Andy Campbell
Anthony 58
Rob & Mary Lane

Please note that the London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) regulations are now in force, and your car must meet Euro 4 (petrol) or Euro 6 (diesel) minimum emission standards. If you do not meet these standards you will need to pay a £12.50 charge to enter the ULEZ zone next Sunday. Generally if your car was registered in 2005 or before, you might not meet the standards. Please refer to Manuel’s post above or the Transport for London ULEZ site to check your car and pay the charge if applicable.

I will have a suggested route prepared for the weekend...you do not have to follow it. Meanwhile, I have sent full details to all those above. If you haven’t had that email, please let me know.

Cheers.
Mark

Hi all,

Sorry about the trouble with the maps. I can’t seem to fix it so will let you have hard copies in the morning if I can get home in time tonight. Currently in London, so don’t hold your breath(s?)!!

Hello Mark

Yet another great drive. Well organised, great photo locations and lovely company. And to end a big breakfast!

The weather was also kind. Getting 10 cars around the middle of London was no easy ask. Proves your co pilot/navigator wasn't too bad either.

Thanks again.
Pam & Les

Hi Mark,

Thank you so much for the organisation and effort put into this DOTM, just simply fantastic scenery and the weather was on our side. Very grateful, and enjoyed the radio chat.....well we did anyway......

I have emailed some pics which I thought people would enioy.

Many thanks again Mark

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your comments. Thanks for your support and for your good humour in one or two times of adversity ... eg trying to turn 10 Porsches round in a short narrow cul de sac, and trying to park in the catacombs of London Bridge, before seeking out a long overdue comfort break. Oh, and there were the armed police at Buckingham Palace about to terminate us unless we drove quickly onwards - I only had to be asked once!!

Participation is what makes these events so much fun, so come on R10 members... let‘s show other regions how to have a great social life whilst driving our Porsches!!!

Cheers.
Mark

Hi,
Thanks again for bringing your go-pros that has giving me a lot of nice footage for nearly all the cars, and thanks Rob to sacrifice yourself closing the group so we all stick together. I've added some Footage from May when we tested the Route with Sue & Mike as well.
I hope you like it, you can downloaded from:

High Resolution:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sAVsicjdw-brxMvE3P6DgwAvQbx0Wzx3

and low resolution in case you want to keep it in your phone:

I think I may do a video with the bloopers:
LES: they are turning around!
they are turning around!
I cant turn around here!

See you all soon

Manuel

Great video and soundtrack Manuel.
Thanks for the time you have spent putting this together, very professional and miles better than anything I could achieve!
