Quick S2 Question?

Probably not. If it does then itll be indicated by the option '220' on the sticker in your service book, and also on the inside of the rear panel behind the carpet. If it does, itll definitely need a rebuild by now: clutch-type LSDs are good for about 40,000-50,000 miles.

keep hearing this but mine still works with almost 200k, its immersed in oil which bits wear?

mine still works to some extent (167k) - jack the car up & rear wheels both turn in the same direction

whether it's 5% or 40% locking - who knows?

Im sure that it can only be tested under load though Ed. Theres a big difference between no load on axle stands and 200 horsepower at 50mph...

Mine still drives very much like it has a working LSD, it hasn't had any work on it in the last 100k miles and I doubt it had any in the 90k before that.

that was really my point - you can test for an LSD with the rear wheels in the air, but it's more difficult to measure the % of locking
