Proper Porsche tyres

Hi Dougal , in reply to your question , your company have supplied me in the past with Michelin XWXs , simply as a replacement for the original fitments , replaced mainly because of age/cracking rather than wear .
I then switched to Pirelli Cinturato CA67s , with the classic profile and tread pattern , based on recommendation from Jaz Porsche that they were good for spirited driving , again supplied by you .
My most recent fitment was Blockley tyres , recommended by Greatworth Classics and Jaz and other 356 owners . Have not done any spirited driving on them yet but they have that proper period look . 15 x 165

Interesting thread. I've had a look at the test Dougal linked and it's worth a read, although it's from 2016 so the tyre landscape has moved on a bit since then. The CA67 does seem to be the one people come back to for a 356 on 15s, mainly because the profile and tread pattern look right and it's a proper period design rather than a modern take on one.

Worth remembering that Dougal sells them, so the "best value" and "only genuine period option" claims are coming from a supplier. I'd say that's probably fair for the CA67, but it's a bit different from saying the alternatives are bad. Oldtimer's mention of Blockleys is a useful data point too, since a lot of owners seem happy with them for the look.

For me it would come down to how the car is used. If it's spirited driving, I'd lean towards the Cinturatos. For mostly shows and gentle runs, either would do the job. Check the date codes on whatever you buy, as old stock can be a problem however good the price looks.
