That looks a bit more than the "usual" ,, edd china stuff...
If the screen is broken. then ide suspect the door pillar has moved a bit....
Maybe a job for the UK "wrecks to riches" show where they put accident damaged cars back on the road- they use pulling jigs etc.

I read somewhere that some of these cars for sale, that don't look too badly damaged have already had a pull on a jig to make them look better than they really are .

Yes, none of these programmes are real. It's TV and a good story. They don't show everything. I have heard that the people Mike Brewer buys and sells to on the program are friends and family of the cast, production crew and TV program. I have heard they sell the cars on E-Bay in reality and there is often much more wrong with the cars than shown. Watch closely and you see the same buyers and sellers crop up in different episodes.

It's all a good yarn though. I used to really like that programme, but it looks like one we don't get on Discovery down here.

I also used to see Edd driving his couch on the M4 sometimes when I worked in Slough.

Exactly. It's not news that TV programmes are more about entertainment than reality!

So, was it Edd who built all those crazy stage-set cars? We saw the office set-up at South Mimms on a Porsche day out once. A full desk, with all the trimmings, mounted on a lashed-up chassis with a mini engine IIRC. [&:]

Paul, just sent you a PM with the details on that S2 I mentioned - some pics too!

Here's a sample:

It has stuff growing in the bottom of the wheelarch. That isn't going to be pretty when someone looks inside the sills is my bet.

A rolling S2 gathers no moss.....

A static one, however......[8|][:D]

Well, they did want a project - just depends on how much of a project!

That's a grim looking car, Nick sent me some other photos as well and the corrosion is about the worst I've ever seen on the outside, so what the inside is like doesn't bear thinking about.

Never know, though. It might make a good donor car if the mechanicals are good. I'd think the shell is beyond any economical repair. Engine could slot nicely into the S2 cab that Douglas Valley have at the moment. [8|]

Or the Lux of someone looking for an S2 engine; you can't do better than a complete donor car, and you can sell some bits you don't want to offset costs.

Will you guys stop buying all the good cars first! Everything I put forward seems to be snapped up before they get there....[8|]

Keep looking, I'm determined they use a 944. The alternative is a cat-d Boxster?? []

When I went to look at my car a few months ago they'd just bought in another white S2 to break and it was shocking. The only possible explanation was that it had been stood in a field with the grass growing up around it for several years. Everything below the door strips was shot, it almost made mine look like a factory fresh example!

Ollie has an S2 in at RPM that's the same. I've not seen worse until Nick's pictures! []

I'm fast coming to the conclusion that the corrosion is a far worse issue in a car that's been off-road. Not well cared-for, and then laid up, but left outside and not driven. If there's moisture inside the bodywork it's only going to be a problem if you don't drive it regularly to allow the designed-in ventilation to work.

they have done a 911, a 924 and a 928, so a 944 much be the Porsche for series 5.

And it is - a Turbo will be featuring. Thanks for all the suggestions, hopefully the programme will stimulate demand and lead to a huge increase in the values....[&:]
