Long Shot but anybody know a company that may do a service exchange LHD power steering rack for 993 rs ? it will save time in sending mine away to reconditioned / re-sealed, it's leaking fluid and requires a refurb.

Steve,

It's not that specialist, you should be able to go to a reputable local steering rack refurbisher to get it overhauled.

This example is not local to you, but 2 year guarantee seems useful!

Seems cheap?

I thought replacement racks were nearer £500+...... more from Porsche, no doubt..

And Type 911 refurb for £320 here.

I'm pretty sure I have heard of owners getting racks reconditioned by this company http://www.westernpowersteering.co.uk/

Jonny or Dan at Unit Eleven will more than likely be able to confirm.

The RS uses a 964 rack - the gearing is slower than the standard 993 rack.

This was many years ago at SPA, great car lots torque and handled on rails, no varioram, seemed to GO and sound like PhilRs 3,8 RSR engine .... same engine?

Ordinary Cup Cars ex Factory book at 315 bhp..the rare rsr engines i believe were IRO380 or even more , must have been stunning ......and in the best place Spa!......................................1st year i wont have made it in maybe 15 tyears ,sniff !!
