Poundland

I went into a Poundland shop today. Not my usual sort of shopping destination, but I needed cheap dusters and Meadowhall was close-by.

They couldnt help me with polishing cloths, but I came away with two new DVDs. Theyre both poorly repackaged Duke titles: Porsche Cars and Greatest F1 Cars. Ive seen them both in Duke catalogues in the past and there easy to spot as they still use the original Duke cover photographs.

Theyre both over two hours long and Im more than happy, for a cheeky £2.

Two things I sooooo love about this post.

1) The absolutely essential " not where I usually shop addition " ( nice touch) [;)]

2) The fact that several shall we say 'other' Porsche owners will be choking on their breakfast cereal at the thought of any Porsche owner shopping in Poundland.

Thanks for chearing me up on what promises to be one of the cr***st days of my life [8|]

Sorry to hear that Big Boy. Mine's not looking too hot either.

Care to share?

Ipswich has a Poundland. Recently, a shop called "99p Yippee" opened next door. Poundland must be furious to be undercut like that. It fought off it's main competitor last year, the "90p Shop", so I'm sure they will survive.

Crumbs Mas - that doesn't sound good.

I hope it all goes OK, and the results aren't the bleak ones you are thinking they could be.

Hang in there. I'm sure others will be thinking of you too.

Bit of a shame about the thread title. We're all wishing Mas the best, on a thread entitled "Poundland".

Bit demeaning to Mas really. Sorry dude, I'm sure a thread entitled "Harrods" or "Harvey Nicks" would have been much more appropriate for you ...

Unfortunately the forums softawes dire choice of supported smilies makes interjecting humour difficult. Im not sure that anyone shopes regularly in places like this, but I might go into the next one that I see on the off chance that I can pick up a reasonably interesting Duke video for a £1!

I'm guessing you've had the biopsy Mas and are sitting at home feeling somewhat sore. I hope you have a cold beer and some sunshine to drink it in.

Keep us posted. We may be a bunch of boring, ugly old car nuts but it's a bit of a community as well.

Mas, don't know your circumstances but i hope all is well !
Went to ALDI today and bought a 1metre x 4 metre winbreak for camping, 2 bottles of Red vino (having sampled one fine !) a bag of red onions a tray of cherry tomatoes and a pint (litre) of milk for 13 bar.
I buy my oil from Home Bargains Gulf (Very LM) 10/40 Semi Synthetic £8.99 4 litres
Northern Blokes love a bargain.

That said i spend a fortune on watches which at the end of the day just tell you the time, i have some that if sold would buy a nice car [:)]
