Porsche Specialist in Chiswick

Hi. I remember seeing an ad for a Porsche Specialist in Chiswick, somewhere on an industrial estate behind Chiswick Park tube station from memory. Does anyone know the whereabouts, have contact details or any experience of this specialist?

I need to get the rear wheel bearings replaced (I think) on a Boxster S and am told it is quite straight forward but Porsche Centre West London want to charge rather a lot for this.

If you know of any other places worth a try near Chiswick, I would welcome suggestions.

Thanks

I use Chelsea Carrera, in Fulham (I live in Hammersmith), and have done for years (both used them, and lived here !).

Address 202 Seagrave Road, SW6 1ST

As far as I know, they are familiar with all Porsches, as they seem to have a wide range in there at most times. Leigh, who works with them, but not part of Chelsea Carrera (but he can always be called on for advice), seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of porkers, and a couple a years ago maintained a winning car in one of the Porsche racing series (John Williams ?).

In terms of prices, there you have me. I have been going to them (and their predecessor) for many years now, with my SC and now my 3.2 carrera, so have no-one else to compare with - I tend to stick with someone when I feel I can trust them.
In the same vein, I possibly pay more for my tyres than I need to (but not much), but I deal with someone who goes out of his way to get me the tyres that I want, when I want, is very careful with my alloy wheels, resolves any problems easily, and is local.

They are friendly, helpful, and are prepared to spend some time with you discussing the problems/enhancements etc. that you have.

So, give them a bell - Will is the person that I speak to most.

Thanks for the insight, John.

I'm in no rush, but am weiging up a few options and it's ALWAYS good to hear from a happy customer. I echo your your thoughts on sticking with services you can trust and will definitely drop them a line when the need arises (hopefully not too soon!)

Cheers,

Will

PS - have alway's been intrigued by your avatar. what's the story?... that you driving?

Will,
I also use Chelsea Carrera and have been happy with their service over the past couple of years. In fact my car is in with them now having a steering column bearing replaced. It's certainly not the most glamorous garage you'll ever see, don't be expecting tea and biscuits in a pristine reception area. What you see is what you get - Lawrence and Will are decent guys who know their stuff and won't incur you unecessary expenditure. They usually have a good mix of cars in but the bulk tend to be 3.2s or 964. As John says Leigh next door (actually in same garage unit) tends to have more of the pre 80's cars in, but he does seem to lend a hand when needed.

My avatar - 'borrowed' from the web, converted to an animated GIF (easy), trimmed to fit, and voila !
I don't think anybody is going to lend me a 917, not even to look at - and I don't know who is driving.
