Copperman

I do hope this is not of your making[X(] but even my Binman would not take it[]

My God..... It always amazes how some people's minds think, this is a classis case of ' one man's rubbish is another man's treasure'. I think you can all guess which is mine..:)

Here are the Q and A's from e bay - worth a chuckle[;)]

Q: Hi Mike, How many miles had the sideboard covered before recycling, and does it come with a service history? Thanks, Mike. 21-Jul-12
A: Hi Mike, You should be on the stage !!! perhaps u r ??? mike

Q: Hi there, A very interesting coffee table. I was just wondering what your inspiration was, and why you made someting so unusual. All the best, Sean 21-Jul-12
A: Hi, i can't claim the credit !, took inspiration from top gear !!!! Regards. mike.

Q: Hi there, I'm very interested in this magnificent piece of work, but although I'm not a mechanic I'm slightly worried that when I put it in my car, the heat of the internal combustion engine will set fire to the wood and I'll die in a blazing fireball of pain and suffering. Are there any assurances you can give me that this won't happen before I bid on this wonderful item? Thanks in advance. 21-Jul-12
A: HI,WHY DON'T YOU WASTE SOMEONE ELSE'S TIME. ????

Q: Hi Love the retro look/design,I have a couple of questions , does the finished engine have any moving parts that could be linked to say an internal battery/ mains? for display purposes. Also you mention the Wooden base for it, is this the Table top its displayed on in the picture? Thanks 21-Jul-12
A: Hi , Yes,could be linked to a motor / battery. the cogs & drive belt. No , it's on my workmate in the photo. !!! thanks for the compliament. ! Regards. Mike.

Q: Hi will the engine/table be treated for woodworm and the like? Also can it be heard running, don't want to buy a dud. Regards Mark 21-Jul-12
A: HI , AS I'M SURE YOU ARE AWARE ,IT'S MADE FROM WOOD.
Q: Would it be possible to connect up the aircon and use it to cool my lounge? Better still, if a glovebox was available, I could get that chilled. 21-Jul-12
A: hI , IT'S MADE FROM WOOD !!!
Q: Can you tell me how many months left Road tax the engine has? Do I need to get an MOT? 21-Jul-12
A: IT'S MADE FROM WOOD !!!!
Q: Hi this interests me greatly . From your discription you say the engine is made of wood I own o 911 myself and I think this would remind me of my car whilst watching telly. However I need to be sure that it is made of 100% recycled materials 21-Jul-12
A: Hi warren2206. Yes it is, i purchasedthe wood which was a very heavy sideboard from a lovely pakistani couple who had lost their business franchise to shell oil company. Regards mike. ps, the only part i will be buying is the glass top. ( £100 ) saftey glass 10mm thk with bevelled edges.

Q: HI Sorry for yet more questions. Is the flywheel and clutch inplace? I could do with them for my car so might rob them from the table if they are fitted. Did you clean up the engine parts in a dishwasher before fitting them as I dont want oily bits on my carpet? Lastly, is the throttle body connected to anything? I wondered if it could be fitted to a light inside the engine - and possibly a dimmer switch - it would give an interested effect add a few BHP. 21-Jul-12
A: Hi,i will repeat, the engine is madefrom wood ,it's a cosmetic item. mike

Q: Can you tell me when the serpentine belt was last changed and by who? It appears they put it on wrong, it needs to go around the idle rollers and tensioner correctly. 21-Jul-12
A: Hi , i think youv'e missed the point, the photo is a work in progress. mike.
Q: Thanks Mike for clarifying that ..I feel a bit silly now !!!! Will the glass be a new piece or have you used a Boxster screen or similar ?..you have said you can offer similar items , if I wanted a be-spoke example done (I think a vintage example would look great in my man-cave at the back of my garage )is that something you could do for me ? ...I can provide pictures of the engines I have in mind , my son has drawn lots of pictures of various engines and he would love it if one could be copied ...So my son would be happy , I would be happy and my car night mates would be envious of my automobile based centre piece in between the two couches ( actually rear seats from a 1955 Ford Thunderbird !)..THANK YOU 20-Jul-12
A: Hi , yes a new piece of safety glass . Sure , any engine would be possible.I LIKE THE SOUND OF A VINTAGE ENGINE.!!!REGARDS. stressedoutmikey21

Q: Hi there, firstly, that's a lovely old Black and decker workmate, my dad had one of the first ones and seeing yours brings back some memories I can tell you (he made such beautiful bird boxes), does it have a steel framed plywood base platform? Anyhow, I am interested why you did not use an actual boxster engine? These water cooled lumps are so prone to failure I was considering buying an engine and chrome-ing it for some 'house art' and they were all under £500. I assume the wooden engine is to protect the carpet from all the fluids a real one would leak? (even when empty, they were that bad!) Oh, is the glass a safety type and will the cut edges be bevelled? Thank you for your time. 20-Jul-12
A: Hi, Thanks for the message, the glass will be a safety type ,and yes it will have bevelled edges. Regards. stressedoutmikey21

Q: If im the successful bider will it be delivered fully assembled or as a flat pack - Im not very good with engines 20-Jul-12
A: Hi Gripper, WOULD BE COMPLETE, BUT WITH THE GLASS TOP PACKED SEPERATELY. REGARDS.stressedout mikey 21.

Q: Hi Could you post some other pictures of the engine please? Do you have pictures withthe glass on top yet? Are the eng
ine mounts inplace as I dont want nasty marks on my carpet. 20-Jul-12
A: Hi best gear, I am in the process of building the table,i will post some more recent pictures on monday. ( with a glass top ). The table sits on a solid wood base. Hope this is of some help. Regards. Mike Powell.

Q: Could you confirm the CO2 and hydrocarbon figures from its last test. Is it possible for you to post more pictures from different angles and its footprint measurements 20-Jul-12
A: Hi , gripper22000. no,the engine is made from wood.!!!!

Q: Hi, Could you let me have the engine number please , so I can check its origins ? Also , would you have an idea of mileage ....I know its being used as an ornament but is there any chance it might be able to be put back into service ? I mean , have you had to do anything to the engine when converting it that would render it unuseable ? Thank you 20-Jul-12
A: Hi , The engine is made of wood. !!!! If you wish to bid for the car as an unfinished project , please do , it owes me £ 4000 so far , i would accept a sensible offer. ! Regards. Mike Powell.

Q: Hi, can you tell me what milage the engine had and if it has had its belts changed? Also I note that you used a 2.5 engine, surely 3.4 parts would have made for a stronger, more powerfull table? 20-Jul-12
A: Hi Gazdavies' you seem to have missed the description, the base is made of wood !!!!! With the air intake manifold from an engine. !!!! Hope this clarifies for you. ? Regards. mike Powell.

Q: Hi Can you tell me what colour of car the engine came from and how many owners it has had please? 19-Jul-12
A: Hi Best-Gear, The car was a yellow boxster 1999 2.5 ltr, from which i have used the air intake manifold which has porsche written on each side ( i may highlight the lettering if requested ) or leave as is. Please note,it's not the engine block, from this car, that is still in the car, which i am selling as an unfinished projector for spares possibly. !!!! i hope that makes sense. regards. Mike Powell
