Hi, I'm interested in changing the dampers on my car, which have been on there as long as I've owned it, 12 years now.
By coincidence Porsche Classic have announced that they are working with Bilstein on new uprated dampers for 993 Carrera and turbo.

Now are these just B6's with the Nod from Porsche? [;)] or are these a genuinely new and tweaked superior product?[8|]
B6's were what I was thinking of changing my old ones for any way, your thoughts??

Just had some Koni FSD's fitted to my C2 by Center Gravity and have been delighted with them. Not too firm but still plenty of control when pushing on. May not suit for regular track days but for a 'standard' car feel they are fantastic. CG highly recommended too....

We list them at £420 each on the front and £320 each on the rear, about 15% under Porsche retail

Go Bilstein B6 at under half the price, same shocks in a different box

Fronts are all £460 each + vat

Rears are all £376 each + vat

Standard are green, Sports (for turbo. M033 & M030) are red)

Dont expect to sell many of these as the B6 are £275 and £164

Thanks for the responce, and confirms my suspicion, I'll definitely go for the b6's then.
Having said that it is at least good that Porsche put there hands up and tell you that those monroes aint perfect.??

Me too - had my Koni FSDs fitted about 3 years ago and I'm still very very pleased with them (inc track days [:D]).

Thanks, ill check out the Koni option , plus I've heard good things from other members about Centre Gravity,

hi Mark Did you just change the dampers? Staying with the original springs and top mounts. How much of a job
is it to change all four dampers?

Hi Antony, We looked at changing the springs but Centre Gravity guys reckoned they were in good condition so we didn't change them, but we did change the top mounts, plus a steering linkage and a few bushes. Given the equipment they have, the job of changing the dampers was quick. The thing that took the time was that we didn't spot the problem with the steering linkage until several goes at getting the alignment right and CG are obsessive at getting the alignment and setup just right for the individual customer so I was there from early morning until well into the evening. I was very happy with the service they provided.
