Alan I've also just sorted mine and I can beat yours £442.00 for the Turbo S Cab from AON private clients who Clive suggested I try a few years ago and I've been very pleased the client manager is really good, this year I got a cheaper quote from Compare the market and spoke to Aon who came back and very nearly matched it, the service is first class and worth a premium but I ended up paying a little less this year than last.

£442 not bad for a £100k car with 530 bhp possibly because an old fart of 60 drives it !!!!!!!!

You just can't generalise with insurance, as everyone will be quoted different rates for the same car from every company.
I'd always go through a specialist broker, the extra protection in the event of a claim is worth double the price of a "discount" policy from one of the TV advertising companies. Plenty in the back of Porsche Post.

Aon could not give a competitive Quote on my 2 year old 997 GTS as they are at present concentrating on high value vehicles, and quoted a premium of around a £1000 however had I wished to cover a Gen 2 turbo it would be half that figure, how strange can it get.
I finally ended up with a policy from the RAC costing £512 from 1st May, and wish you the best of LUCK.

Locktons the most expensive by £200, restrictive on track days must be PCGB, I thought Chubb made locks and Fire alarms, £500 excess, salvage rights.
APlan cheaper, 5 track days, must be organised ones, excess £500
Marsh the most competitive 2 track days, again must be properly organised £430 excess
At the end of it there is about 18% difference between them, and as I don't often do track days, that element makes little difference but I would like to try a couple and not be restricted to PCGB.

Insurance due for renewal this month, been with Mannings for last few years, renewal slightly cheaper than last year, but tried Porsche insurance (Marsh) and Loxtons, Marsh over £150.00 cheaper and dont require a tracker, so saves another £210.00 (only 2 track days) - against Loxton who want twice the price of Mannings - not sure anyone will be insuring with Loxton at those prices!

Lockton beat Mannings on price for my 997 GT3 and offered a range of options Mannings just were not interested in discussing such as paying for the mileage you do rather than a fixed maximum, payment via bank transfer or no charges for paying with credit or debit card, agreed value.
Lockton were no good for us, their business model seems to be based on having a sensible (non-performance) car and the Porsche should be a 'weekend' one. They couldn't cope with the fact that our 'other' car was also a Porsche.
ps. You will also find their track day cover only covers PCGB days, fine if you only intend on club events but no use if you plan on attending other MSA track days or even a day at the PEC.
