My son has just returned from driving the Macan with Porsche. He is suitable impressed, but there again he has to be as he works for Porsche! However, despite the overall euphoria surrounding Macan (pronounced 'Macarn'), I note the EVO April edition is not quite so 100% complimentary. Quote 'It's no 911, Cayman or Boxster', but I suspect the EVO article is more balanced than the other articles we have seen. Whatever, EVO really does like it. Of course!

Interesting reading the latest Autocar and EVO. It seems that Porsche expect to build 200,000 cars next year! This is at a time when Ferrari are deliberately cutting back on production. Whilst this will enable Porsche to make huge profits and thus develop its sports car arm, I still have fears for residual values. They will continue to plummet []

Whatever, I still have my eyes on the new 911 Targa [:D]

I believe the correct pronouncation is Match-an. Seems Porsche believe the word we'd pronounce Macan is a dirty word in Chinese. People who buy Q3s and Q5s might stretch to a Macan , better badge etc and a better car too. The market for these things is big so Porsche see it as a way to make easy money. What will determine the future residuals is build quality.
