Porsche Alarm System 1

Hello Recent owner of a 1998 Turbo 930.
It has the factory option - Alarm System 1.
I only have one key fob and 1 ignition key.
Any advice on where i could get a copy of both?

I have tried H&P who made the alarm originally for Porsche....but no luck.




 
I'm guessing you mean 1988?

You can get the key copied onto a standard metal key at Timpsons or the like. If you want a Porsche labelled key you can buy one from Type911 or the like and then get a locksmith to copy your key onto it. Timpsons probably wan't do it; their personnel are not supposed to make keys from customer supplied blanks.

Can you post a photo of the fob?

Inside fob and i have these two keys which don't relate to anyting i can find on the car. The ignition key opens the front, glove box and petrol cap.

Any help much appreciated.

As Matt said some cars have a factory alarm that was enabled and disabled by an extra locking cylinder on the edge of the driver’s door. You would unlock the car and then open the door a few inches revealing the cylinder on the inside of the door. Might your car have a lock cylinder there? Also check for a lock cylinder in the release for the front lid.

Fob picture.

...and to check....is the other picture of the "Vent Switch". Something else i have no clue what it is.
 
Is there an aftermarket siren/sounder in the engine compartment and the key on the right fits into that?

When you say H&P couldn't help did they recognise it as one of their products that they no longer have spare parts for or that it's not one of theirs?
 
It isolates the internal alarm sensors in the rear parcel shelf, I get asked that a lot!

The open alarm fob looks very similar to those for our 924S which has an aftermarket Fox alarm fitted.
A firm down in Devon /Cornwall have helped me with that when it went US -sent it to them ,returned within a week sorted -they supplied a new fob & very helpful on the phone.
Haven't got their details to hand but if it helps ,could look them out.
 
Many thanks for all the advice. I managed to find a Porsche engineer who has removed the entire alarm, and it is still working. Will now sell it for parts.
