Porsche 996.2 Replacement short engine from Porsche in 2015

Good Afternoon
I hope someone can offer some thoughts/ opinions please. I have owned a 996,2 Targa since Jan this year and have wondered since then about the potential for bore score and IMS issues. My car had a new short engine fitted in 2015, the engine was supplied by Porsche - does this mean I don't have to worry about bore scoring / IMS because the engine will have been constructed by Porsche more recently and any issues would have been subsequently rectified in the production of the engine. Or will it be just the same as the original short engine from 2002?

HI Andrew.
Try to put your mind at rest, you should have all the last upgrades on your engine.
If you get the engine number then that may give some more info as to it's build. The number is located on a chamfered part of the block, on the passenger side just above and to the front of the sump.

thanks Andy, when the new short engine was fitted they didnt enshrine the actual ID number so the digits I have are the ones they all start with My maintainer told me they I will keep the same engine number as the old one and they can stamp that onto the block?
