You can get matt black GTS style badges from Suncoast part in the US. Not cheap though, think they work out over £200 if you wanted PORSCHE and BOXSTER S. Sure i've seen 981 as well.

 
Thanks, in the UK "Porsche" is about £65-85 I have never found 981 though...I will look at the website

 
You can get the 9 and the 8 from Porsche as the rear badge for a 968, they come as individual numbers. Don't know about the 1 though!

 
Another "tongue in cheek" alternative - and before I get flamed I'll admit I'm biased!!

918 - Cayman or Boxster?

If Cayman, the 968 coupe is a far more practical and cheaper alternative to the Cayman. Our 968 coupe was initially our main car, did supermarket runs as well as a camping trip to Le Mans 24, with the sunroof out laid on the camping gear in the boot and the rear view mirror still useable - and space for some shopping (in bottles!!) on the way home.

If Boxster - well, I twice had a Boxster as the coutesy car when my coupe was being serviced, really liked it, but when the time came to scratch the drop top itch (after nearly buying a Boxster 3 times!) I finally decided to look for a good 968 cab, and have not regretted my decision. There are too many Boxsters on the road these days, especially as you can now get an early one for Fiesta money, whereas 968 cabs are very rare and appreciating. I'm also convinced that the 968 cab is more practical than the Boxster - wife and I, admittedly with some serious pre-trip luggage planning, did a 19 day 2600 mile trip in my cab. I also love the 968 tip gearbox system, so I can drive it as a clutchless manual but with stirring the gearstick rather than buttons or paddles.

I am a newly proud owner of a Porsche 987 Boxster, and it is my first Porsche. I am currently a guest on this site. I have given thought to becoming a full member

but wondered if there might be an element of snobbery with some (not all) members/owners. I know you state the posting is tongue in cheek, but I wonder?

Surely if Porsche owners whatever model/s they may own, are passionate about the brand and wish to promote the Porsche virtues, then what difference does it make.

Have you reached the hills yet.

 
I have managed to source the Black "Porsche" lettering, plus a stencil alignment card..all for £23 on fee bay..:)

Now I need the Numbers

There are plenty of 987 owners in the club and on the forums. (Me included)

I have not found any snobbery regarding models/years/costs in either forum or club meets - just regular folks with a shared interest. What you get out of either is pretty much dependent on what you put in.

You have already bought you place at the table if you have bought a Porsche - and the club annual membership Gives you discounts at Porsche and other places - chances are you will cover you membership costs. My advice is join, participate here, go to club meets and events, if it suits you, stay around - if not - don’t renew next year.

That all said - this is in the middle of a thread about sourcing some lettering - so out of place, but I wanted to reply to try and reassure you its a friendly place. Suggest you open a new thread if you want to discuss further.
