PORSCHE 944 S2 CABRIO BLUE - For Sale

For Sale is my much loved Porsche 944s2, I have owned her for almost two years and in which time she has always put a smile on my face. With summer just around the corner this is a great chance to get a bargain.
She has the perfect combination of cream leather interior and laser blue exterior.
Since buying the car I have replaced the following components:
· Cam-belt,
· Battery "" (5 yr guarantee),
· Oil & filter,
· Refrigerant flush,
· Thermostat
· Rear brake shoes
All works have been carried out by Datum Motor sport (I have the receipts). Who specialise in performance cars. The previous owner was a Porsche collector and only kept the finest models. I bought the car after a new clutch and four new tyres had been fitted (2010).
As you can see from the photos the car is now not in A1 condition (Before & After Photos attached). This is due to a slight clip with a bush following the rain over the weekend.
The car is never normally taken out in the rain and is always stored in a dry garage, but I took her to Goodwood Super Sunday. On the way back, we hit some muck on the road and clipped a bush. The car has a damaged front wing, dented driver's side sill, dented driver side rear wing. The rear break light and front fog lights have broken glass but all work. The driver's side wheel has a very small dent but not that noticeable. Inside of the car and the passenger side of the car there is no damage at all.
To my knowledge there are no major problems with the car that would cost a great sum to fix, it is mainly that I do not have the time to fix her. I have not got the facility of a ramp so I could not tell you about the underside of the car. Overall the paint work is in Very good condition and is always polished.
If you had the time on your hands, this would be a great summer car at a much reduced price in comparison to the price these sell for £8000 in top condition. I believe the panels could all be fixed as it has not crumpled the car rather just dented it.
All electronics seat, mirrors and lights work. There is a top of the range Pioneer stereo (classic look) that also comes with the car. All original Porsche mats are also included.
I have been as honest as possible, the car has an MOT (Feb 2013) and Tax (Aug 2012) but I could not tell you if it is road legal just due to broken lights etc, I drove it back to Putney where it currently resides from Goodwood.
Please come and view this car if you are serious, as it is a Brilliant car with only 124,000 on the clock. Last year I drove her to Snowdon, Cotswolds and Scafell pike and it never missed a beat at all. I only drive the car on Hi days and Holidays.
This truly has been a fantastic car and will be greatly missed.
If you have any question please feel free to contact me, viewing welcome around work commitments.
The car will need to be collected from Putney; if you are from outside the UK please do not bid on this car unless you can collect it.

Cash/bank transfer prior to or on collection. - a £200 deposit will be required within 48hrs of winning.

This car is sold as seen.
My friend will be able to show you the car most evenings, but will require prior arrangements.
Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions

Many thanks

It must have been a very substantial bush for a "clip" to dent the front and rear offside wings, the offside sill, smash the foglights on both sides plus damage the nearside rear light cluster and tailpipe.

My sympathy for the damage to your car.

Yes, it looks more like it has been crashed to me. Id only ever buy a car like that from a man who told me that he crashed it and never from someone who was determined to convince me that it was a 'tap' and he had 'clipped a bush'.

That car may have clipped a bush, but it happened during a crash and the cost to repair properly will be in middle four figures, I think.

For me the best quote so far has to be this :-

When an advert reads "I'm sure it's ok, but I don't have the time to fix it" I just assume they mean "I've had a quote, it's fked and going to cost a fortune, so I shall attempt to foist it on an unsuspecting and naive Porsche fan"

That pistonheads link explains many things. I was wondering why no fix under insurance. Not a good place to be.

I'd guestimate around 4k from a good body shop.

Thats excatly how it reads to me too. It always surprises me when vendors feel that theyre outsmarting potential buyers in this manner.

There was another chap on Pistonheads who stuffed a blue cab recently as was commiserating with him, his was worse than this one.

I hate being judgmental, but I can't help it, so here goes.

1. That was one bad ass bush. Would not want to meet it in a dark alleyway. In world war two we could have used bushes like that as anti tank defenses!

2. People on pistonheads, do they take testosterone pills or something? I did join up there, but it seems to be all fighting talk and rib poking that in the real world would end up coming to blows. Do they have meet ups? It must end up with some wild west style punch ups OR they all are really meek and mild in person.

Am I the only one that thinks that the front wheel on the side with the damage seems to have some funky positive camber on it?

PH, like many large forums, brings out the worst in people. More accurately, it brings out their true character. Lots of bedwetters with nothing to add, waiting to try to belittle others, acting in a way that theyd wouldnt ever do if they were really talking to people - a proper Lord of the Flies experience!

Quite sad for them, I think.

I park mine next to a bush on the drive and am definitely going to start treating it with more respect, what it wants, it gets from now on!

As for the Pistonheads comments, I'm with you as well. However if you do ever hear of a meet then please let me know. I'd like to turn up and just watch from the other side of the car park, I'm sure they would put on a good show.

I've seen a 944 that had a coming together with a bus and it was damaged less, even the exhaust is bent. Perhaps the OP added a 'H' by mistake. As said honesty works better when trying to flog a damaged car.
Spun in the wet into a ditch would have worked better. Nice pre crash condition by the looks of it though.

Basically it pays to take no notice of the ad and whether it is repairable or not, this is now a parts car, one that could yield a far few quid in bits, it is up at £1353 at the moment, I think it is worth this, maybe a bit more, two grand ?

Engine £700
Interior £300
Hood £250
Wheels (whichever arent bent) £75 each
Cab boot lid £100
Bonnet £100
Ecu £75
1 Decent wing £150
2 (cab) doors £150 each
Gearbox £300
Torque tube ?
Brakes ?
Suspension bits ?
Fuse Box/Relays
Lights
Spare wheel/pump/jack
PAS Pump
Rack
Alternator
Rad
Dash
Mirrors
Heater
Exhaust
Clock/gauges
Battery
Carpets
Fuel Tank

Weigh the rest in £100

I'm sure that I would want a few of those bits but with my ability, the time it would take me to take it apart, label and post everything via eBay means that I would be on less than minimum wage.

Now if someone with better skills............

Must have spun - the o/s side is damaged but the n/s rear light is broken.

Agree with the breakdown of parts though.

The one on Pistonheads is certainly worse, what is it about blue cabs! (Joss - how do you feel like a colour change!)

Well I guess the only upside will be that I could advertise it on eBay with the phrase VERY RARE in some massive coloured font!
