Hi Tom, A great looking car & age related colour - the 964 engine cover looks really good. I am doing a complete restoration of an SC & finding so many anomalies where the spec is concerned, so hard to determine what it was when new. Mine had all black window trim and yet the door frames inside were polished/adanised chrome. I stripped all the frames to repaint in black & noticed layers of paint - etch primer, undercoat & black which looked original. My car was built in December 78 & registered in Feb 79. Vin 911930 1523 so 1082 earlier than yours. Mine was 'Mocha Black' & repainted twice in a metallic bronze & now after everything down to bare metal is in Orange. Interior will be a combination of original & 3.2 so I am not too concerned with absolute originality. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity was very useful for the SC & my 996tt, but it only noted extras when new.[attachImg]https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/download.axd?file=0;1076561&where=message&f=IMG_3786LR.jpg[/attachImg]

The front and rear window trim inserts could be ordered in black or chrome around the time you car was made. They would however match the side windows and door handles so its pretty sure that you car was originally chrome trim from the factory. The window trims where the same size and shape from 1964 to 1988 apart from the colour!

Take a photo of the screen up real close so we can see!

Hey Guys, sorry to pick up on this again. my 911 sc is on the ground and I’m just getting to know it, what I do know is the massive smile that’s on my face driving it... am I right in thinking that we have a motorised rear spoiler that is just not working correctly currently, I realise its not the original but I’m going to keep and get it running as I’m sure it’s a very subtle and lovely mod When working! Any ideas what could be stopping it, bad switch/relay? i have the switch in the cab on the dash. Pic attached, seems no power, there are defo some other bits not working, windows are not running correctly and the horn but the good news is the sunroof works a charm and no leaks!

Hi. I have photos of your car in red if you want to see them, DM me. It was brown, painted red and then back to brown.

Hey man, hope is well. thanks for this, I would love to see it, how dis you come by the pics? Did you own the vehicle? Yes, the guy I bought from said it was bitter chocolate, painted in red and then not so long ago been taken back to the bitter chocolate! would love to hear from you!

Photos sent. Shout if you don't get them. I helped the owner identify its original colour; glad it got returned to bitter choc. Just the seats and steering wheel next ;) I quite like the Decklid grill.

maybe delete your email from the thread, in case bots start spamming you.
