Popped Water Hose

I just did this when changing my pump. I think easier if you get the under tray off mate. The clip on the bottom of the rad is much easier to access then.
 
Well managed to get the hose fitted tonight. What an awkward affair on a turbo. Virtually zero room to manoeuvre the hose into place and get it onto the rad and water pump. I found by moving the PS reservoir, the king lead and 1 plug lead, I just managed to wiggle the top of the hose on. Downstairs I got away with just removing the 3 bolts that connect the batwing to the 2nd tray, that plus some kind soul leaving the jubilee clip accessible gave me just enough freedom to get the hose on and tighten the clip. Did need 2 extension bars and a knuckle right enough and some nimble finger work to succeed. Also succeeded in removing skin from knuckle on hand, par for the course really! Was pissing blood but has seemingly glued itself back together after I stemmed the flow with a fresh vinyl glove! That was a bonus. Of course, a heavy shower stopped play when the hose just needed tightened, then darkness starting to fall meant I had my phone jammed in my mouth to see the bloody lower clip. About an hour later it went off and I got it filled up with fresh coolant and bled no problem with the nose still up in the air. No leaks, hot air, all good. Back off the stilts and down she went, test drive successful.

The old hose was original I reckon and has been on and off various times over the years. Can't grumble at 31 years. It was in a right sorry state. The split was about 3 inches long, just at the water pump end. Down below it was starting to look ropey as well. It did announce the end of its life spectacularly so fair play and so long friend! Should maybe have put in on eBay, spares or repair!

I might not see 31 years though I hope so! It turns out to be a URO hose and it had the Porsche part number on it. Should be good for a while anyway, seemed a well made, sturdy hose.
