ORIGINAL: Copperman05 I'm looking at these, anyone know what is required to fit into 1989 944 S2?
££££££££££££ probably, wouldn't mind a set myself but new cost is quite high.

I'm looking at these, anyone know what is required to fit into 1989 944 S2? I assume Recaro seats rails and side mounts are required, can these be just bolted in or are other mods required?

Any help appreciated.

Edd

Dave at Southbound (01264 810080) knows his onions when it comes to fitting these into 944s. From memory: - Std Recaro mounts don't allow the seat to drop low enough. - Double locking runners are highly recommended as they tend to flex more than the std seats with tubular steel sub-frames.

Thanks, I am aware of the costs.. I'll give Southbound a call, cheers. Edd

I have them in my Turbo S and love them ! mine were from a 968 CS so bolted straight in there is height adjustment via a couple of different bolt holes on the subframe. You need a skinny arris, no good for big lads, my mate Steve cannot get into them easily.

You dont look that fat Edd and the PP and the Furious are wider, so you should fit in the alright; but the Apex and Profi models would be tight though... The secret to making the sidemounts fit, is to have aluminium spacers (like cotton bobbins) machined up to bridge the gap between the width of the seat and the mounting positions of the brackets. Actually, 25mm aluminium bar cut and drilled will do; so it neednt be machined. Simon

Thanks, I have tried them in RPM's 968 engined S2 and the fit was fine. Simon do you know if the Brey Krause mounts allow a straight fit? Edd

Sorry, I only know that the Sparco mounts that I have fit. Im happy to measure them if itll help.
