Pirtek ?

Guys - 944 sailed through its MOT on Fiday with no advisories. PC Edinburgh did it for me and very kindly washed it and parked it by their front door so when I came back to collect it I thought I'd gone back in time - it was 1988 and this was a new car ! My other car however is having some problems. I've got a Golf Gti 16v of the same vintage as my Lux - have had it for 12 years and love it to bits. On its MOT it did get an advisory and it was regarding the fuel lines under the car coming from the fuel pump under the driver's seat. These are obsolete from VW and I'm having zero luck with breakers etc. My local VW dealers aren't interested. I'm thinking of having new ones made and someone suggested Pirtek. Is this an idea you'd agree with ?

Definately a very good idea, I've used them on various things over the years from high pressure industrial hydraulics through high pressure oil systems to replacement fuel pipes made to patterns, a very good company to deal with. And quick to boot.

Pirtek are indeed an excellent firm ('though theyre actually franchisees). Id use them for any thing other than brake lines and only because they have to sub their manufacture out to a third party.

Get some copper brake line (7mm) and a flaring kit and make `em yourself - I did it on my Mk1

Yes - used Pirtek to fabricate a fuel feed hose for my 944 a few years back - cost about £20 iirc - high quality and fast service.

I a with hilux. 25 feet of tube is about a tenner and the flaring kit not much more. 25 foot gives you plenty to practice on as well.
