Period Radio for 1990 964

Hi everyone,

I'm keen to put a working period radio back into my 964. You have this lovely classic dashboard then, as in my case, someone has put in a cheap modern radio that looks totally out of keeping with the rest of the dashboard.

Does anyone know the correct radio for the car, Blaupunkt Model? Where can I get one :0)

Thanks

Phillip

Hi Philip, I have a '90 C2 Cab. When I bought it in '92 it had a Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 45 which I assume to be the original factory fitment. I hope this helps. On first glance they appear to be available, for a price!

Regards, ... Paul.

Phillip,
If you obtain a "Certificate of Authenticity" from Porsche, it will show the original radio(Stereo).
My 3.2 1989 had a "Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46", which I got from Ebay for a price..

Cheers

Charlie

My 90' targa's certificate showed the Blaupunkt Toronto also found one on e-bay but not a bad price £150, but beware they can be up to £500

Torontos were fitted to late 3.2s and early 964s, but they are notoriously unreliable. There are modern 'retro-look' options, but my favourite is the 993 option Porsche CDR-21 (also badged Becker Grand Prix).
Not cheap though, if you can find one.
