Aa a relatively new owner of a new Porsche Cayenne, I have struggled to understand Porsche's ambivalence towards modern media technology as the frustrating issue I have had since upgrading my old Cayenne for a brand new Platinum version is exactly the same as I had before and my dealer is well aware of the problem but puts out a "Porsche doesn't care" attitude.
In summary, why won't Iphone Album Artwork show on all tracks on the PCM when music plays via the Bluetooth function. I know that a USB to lighting cable via Carplay shows only a ghostly artwork image in the background at all times, even though all other cars I have driven lately do not have the same issue and quite happily show full blooded colour on their screen and I can't believe that there is any safety issue involved being distracted by seeing what the artist intended. Indeed, the intermittent artwork shown via Bluetooth demonstrates that Porsche don't worry about the visible image, so why not via Carplay? And an image is "made up" by an awful genre picture when playing music via Bluetooth in any event so that a blank screen isn't shown.
My main complaint and plea to Porsche is to fix one or other of these nagging failures. Both media options should show all Album Artwork consistently, and there is no good reason other than lazy or snobbish software designers. Why an update hasn't been sent to dealers by now shows a scandalous disregard for progress and a happy customer. Porsche forums galore over many years have complained about this issue across many of the Porsche models but there are deaf ears at Head Office or complacency in abundance about falling behind much less quality marques than Porsche.
I hope someone has an answer in the short term or is able to post a valid reason why Album Artwork being displayed by whatever the chosen media function is such an unimportant facility in a £75k car!
