PCM 3.1 CarPlay Upgrade

Hi ... Fairly new here , just picked up on this old post ... has anyone done this recently ? I have been looking at the latest from joyeauto at £400 delivered ... from 911 in essex. any thoughts or advice from anyone who has done this ?
Mine is a 2014 Macan with Burmeister sound system .

I researched this upgrade for my 2016 PCM 3.0 Cayman GTS and there's a fair bit of work involved as I understand it, especially stripping out the whole PCM unit - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIdQdn1PoT0&t=386s - frightening!!
Bear in mind, where relevant, there may be warranty and compatibility issues. Very expensive if it goes wrong!

Hope this helps but there's other guidance on YouTube - look up Porsche PCM 3.1 upgrades.

Joyeauto wireless carplay All fitted but have a small issue with the reversing camera ... Tom at Design 911 very very helpful hopefully sorted ... well worth the few hours work ...

Just purchased an ISUDAR carplay unit for PCM 3.1. Not got around to fitting yet but arrived within a couple days and at a cost of £200ish. Seems they have done away with the need for an additional box and now all built into the chipboard which goes in the PCM. Looks fairly straightforward, just some logical and patient steps. Will update once I get a day to fit!

I also have the Isudar unit. Its a bit daunting pulling apart the PCM unit and its not for the amateur but works well with Android Auto. I now have Waze and google assistant working hands free and wirelessly.
Just a slight issue with it staying connected to my phone after locking the car if within range.

SEO(carplay smart box) maybe suitable for you
Apple carplay mainly focuses on simple applications, such as navigation, listening to music, voice information, etc. However, in 2021, there is already an open Android 11.0 carplay smart box on the market, and you can freely choose the APP you need to download in the Google Play Store. The phone only needs to provide a wifi hotspot. Youtube facebook netflix wazz can be applied on the car machine.

I have it in my car and I used www.smart-tuning.co.uk .
This kit is using the original bluetooth audio for sound and calls which provides much better sound quality and it won't void the OPC warranty. The only place I found that doesn't void the warranty.
Connects automatically very quick and supports front and rear cameras.
Depending on what model you have PCM 3.1 or 4 they can also do coding and maps updates.
Very happy.
