PCCM upgrade

I was given it by a contact I have that has access to the retail pricing - they said that up until last week the 997.... part number was showing at around £2500 inc but now it's the same unit cost as the 9x7.1 and 9x1 versions. which are £1562 inc vat - matches the post a few above saying around £1400 + vat - the install guide lists some companents that will probably add a couple of hundred to the parts cost.

That’s really helpful, thanks. I was quoted by my OPC £2700 +VAT (that’s fitted) but there was a huge caveat that they were given two prices and to be fair they’d given me the high one expecting it to be lower.
It’s still a lot of cash, but I spend a lot of time in the car and will bite the bullet at some point. Don’t forget that if an OPC supplies and fits, you can get a 15% custodian discount or 10% PCGB one if someone else is doing it.

I'd really like to hear about anybody's experience getting one of these PCCM Plus devices fitted. My 997.2 S cabrio has a Panasonic head unit fitted by the previous owner, but I really cannot get on with its touch screen menus which drive me mad.
My garage has texted me to say they can now order a unit for me, so I've decided to book-in the car in November - by which time Porsche should have discovered the bugs which are bound to be in the early units. I'm particularly interested in how people got on with installation of a reversing camera and microphone.
So what additional bits have to be ordered? (eg camera link, microphone etc) Thank you.
By the way, your £2k quote is on the high side.

Is a very low value-add thing to post. Either you know of a secret handshake to get a better price or my (and many other) dealers are lying to them about the price.

I've had 2 quotes for supply and fit the PCCM to my 997.2.
Initially both quotes, from Porsche Centre Reading and Porsche Centre Swindon were the same at £2495 fitted, inclusive.
PC Swindon then agreed a 10% PCGB discount on the unit, for a new total of £2250 fitted which suggest the unit is £2040

Design 911 list the 991.1 unit at £2211, but don't list the 997.2 unit yet - they are providing me a quote, but it look like that's the price, booking from mid October which suggests they are in stock

I have had 4 quotes from OPC for 987.2

Broadly split between £2000 ish and £2500. difference in supply only lowest being £1500 highest being £1700.

Differing discounts including pcgb and custodians being applied.

One (east London) has a unit in stock - others say back order

Portsmouth cheapest supply and fit at £2045

Those prices include the “extras” - adapter cables, replacement antenna etc.

Anyone know if this supports the Sport Chrono functions in the current system - lap times, 3 trips, etc?

Have a look in the manual on the porsche website - I think the trips are supported but there is mention of chronos functions no longer available - I assume thats the lap time part.

I have the manual, and it’s not very specific. It just mentions trip functions. I’ve called OPC Swindon and they are checking

Have they given you a total price for the install. FGP in the video above say it'll be £1800 plus VAT with the. Yours could work out cheaper with the Custodians discount.

It's not a bad price mate - the discount really helped and it came in cheaper than the local specialist. We have some other parts ordered so bundled it all - wanted a liner for the boot and some other small bits. Will do a breakdown once fitted and all good.

Seems to vary depending on the spec of your car.
I have 997.2 with Bose and steering wheel controls so the quote included the PCCM+ for around £1515 inc VAT, then 10 additional lines adding £257 inc VAT to the total.
I assume, some of those bits were specifically for the Bose and steering wheel controls and would not be needed for a plain steering wheel and regular stereo.
Then they are suggesting 2 hrs labour. Total around £2240 which is not too bad.

Currently just wondering whether I should hold off until there are some owner reviews out there. So far I've only seen some nice, night-time, photos of one installed and a rumour about needing to turn up the volume on the old head before removing it. Nothing about how easy it might be to use or how legible in sunlight or how good it sounds etc.

I have received various quotes - from £2,200 to £2,600 from Porsche main dealers (991.1 C4S/Bose). The larger quote including the PCGB discount apparently. As above I am waiting for a few reviews before going for it. I use the car mainly for a month in Provence every year - and am interested in having Waze and Spotify built in. With a new folding phone en route, perhaps that will give me the larger screen instead?!

Bose yes. That needs another module

Steering wheel controls no. Nothing in the install guide about anything extra for those and the steering column modules support steering wheel controls as standard. A retro fit of a multifunction wheel in a 9x7.2 is wheel and coding no extra hardware.

The extras are replacement aerial amps and module to allow the existing fm antenna to operate as a dab antenna and possibly some cables to present usb into the armrest and or the glove box.
