Hi Roger, thanks for the info. I'll check it out and see if getting someone to fit it is an option, just checking though that there are no irreversible modifications required to the car?

BTW speed camera warning devices are illegal in some countries. I remember reading on the forum many years ago about a member that was forced by a French policeman to drive over his (I think it was but not sure) TomTom.

I have Joyauto on my 991 as it can also run a reversing camera - generally pretty good, its a swap in and out board so the real work was wiring the camera

Integrates car play and google maps fairly well

First one turned out to be a from a bad batch (well written about in forums) the second one has been pretty good so far - the music from MP3's on the phone is far better than the CD player installed form factory, so improved music quality was an unexpected extra

Just to update on my recent comments, I took a chance and went for this unit from eBay

Installed at the weekend and it’s working perfect, resolution isn’t brilliant but as others say, neither is OEM. Auto apple car play connection via Bluetooth so no cable needed, which is better than my 2019 Alfa Guilia QV & 2025 Volvo!
Overall seems to work really well!

9 werks podcast of 16 February 2026 says that they have information that Porsche will launch PCCM+ for both 997.2 & 991.1 in April 2026. Not confirmed but if true, good news. Prepare your bank accounts!

No start on the 997/2 cranks over very good.
engine runs for 45sec then stalls. Do that 5 times engine will run and drive.
fitted new C P S. No change, No lights on dash. Help

Internet guesswork of course but I suggest high pressure fuel pump.

Needs a diag scan with something with Porsche smarts to see if there are any codes, and get some live readings on fuel pressure etc.

Thoughts on the new PCCM+? Looks pretty good to me and from other forums, it may be around £2k to supply and fit - my OPC said it is around a 2-3 hour job. The 997 version is due for release next month (Sept) and I'm sure more details around pricing will be available as we approach that.

As a member of the custodians scheme I think that the 15% discount from Porsche will be available here.

I may be wrong, but I hear it will be sold at the same/similar price point as other OE headunits for .1, Cayenne E1 & 996 versions. These are all offered at £1420 inc VAT.

only seen US pricing so far ( and local OPC dont have final pricing yet) - but suncoast are listing the 9x1 variant at $2800 US. That tallies with some pricing I have seen ( but not had confirmed ) at around £2500. Not excusing the ridiculous cost - but these new units are a major tech leap from the 9x6 and the 9x7.1 variations - especially if they are supporting in binnacle turn by turn from carplay - which I doubt to be honest - but thats what the web site says.
