PCCM PLUS - all on back order or do some retailers have stock?

Very pleased to say it arrived today! Thank you for the recommendation! Will use Rose Passion again no doubt.
Now I just need to figure out who should fit it... ????

Did you have to pay import tax or VAT etc as its a few hundred pound cheaper from them?

I really cant see why you would buy from France if there is stock in the UK at OPC

With club discount it will be cheaper and stress free

I agree, if I was to buy now I’d go OPC. No need to look further afield now. The reason I bought mine from Rose Passion was purely down to impatience as I bought it when they first released and there was no stock in the UK.

I can’t remember if I’m honest. Was quite some time ago now. As others have said though you may find the OPC route smoother at this point.

Just spoken to my local OPC no stock and they are actually recalling cars that have had them fitted, so if you have bought elsewhere it’s buyer beware.

i don’t think it’s all models just the most recent but sounds a little dramatic especially as early adopters have had no problem

Oh thats odd. No issues with mine at all but mine was one of the very first so maybe I dodged the issue ??????? Only thing with mine is a very very rare random restart. Unit just shuts off and restarts then carries on where it left off. its so infrequent though I doubt that would be a reason for a recall? ??

I had mine fitted by my OPC and it was all very smooth and they did a nice job on the installation. I am really pleased with it and the it brings the car up to date from a comms perspective.

Does anyone know what the problem is behind the recall please?

Nope, they where very cagey about what the actual issue was, it it’s across both models, the single and double din models

All back in stock now, issue was to do with licensing apparently, so actuall hardware and software no changes apart from getting T&C’s sorted

Thank you for the update....

That would make sense, as my PCCM+ has seemed to work perfectly since I had it installed.

I am really pleased with the difference it has made, bringing the comms and navigation technology up to date.

Tim

There are definitely cheaper options out there, but I have to say the PCCM+ looks completely original, like it has always been there. Very pleased with how it works and fits into the car.....

@majordom - what is the issue you have with siri?! I have the PCCM+ with my 996 Turbo Cab and the Bose speakers and it is WONDERFUL and Siri works brilliantly? Where have they fitted the Mic, i wonder if that is the issue?

Hi Rickrock
I only had an hour to get used it but initially really pleased, i had the usb block fitted in the glove box out of sight although some might prefer it located in the cubby. It’s not cheap but on first impressions i like the way the touchscreen operates and visually it looks superb. Ill take a proper look at it over the weekend let me know if you have any other questions.
Apologies for the poor quality picture I’m struggling to change it for a better one.

Thanks Andy! I love the OEM nature of the upgrade so was sold the minute I found out they were releasing the unit. Knew it was a must have when I pulled the trigger on a 996 and I can’t wait to see it in my C4S. love to hear any further thoughts you might have once you’ve had a chance to live with it for a while. Do you have the Bose speakers as well? I heard some tales of a possible issue with the Bose sound system and the PCCM+ but not sure if that is just internet gossip or not... thanks again for the help and congrats on the purchase ??

I have had the PCCM+ fitted with the Bose system - I read that the new system didn't support the Bose Software so I was worried the sound would suffer. I would argue the sound is actually better. The speakers are so capable, and the new unit clearly very powerful I'm absolutely over the moon. I have a small niggle every now and then, that if I change source it mutes, and I have to mute and unmute the unit to get sound back, but its rare and easily resolved. It also seems to chose a bizarre radio station as default but I think I need to probably do some digging into the set up. I had mine fitted by Paragon GB, where I bought the car and they have a "tame" third party to do all of their audio work.

Been quoted £1800-2100 fitted at Porsche. Really want it but can't decide if its good value!

It is quite expensive and a few friends of mine seem to revel in telling me "it’s the same android device I have got” but it is Porsche branded, looks OEM, was fitted brilliantly, sounds epic. In my humble opinion I think it is but you will always have people ridiculing the "Porsche tax” but for me it was worth it…

Did you get this fitted by Porsche or another audio specialist? I'm really tempted as be nice to have the modern tech and think it will also add to the desirability when I come to sell.

Have a look at Friends Green web site, they have an installation video which at the end suggested a fitted price below your quoted £1,800 - £2,100
