Well ..wait for it... The new ones you buy from your opc don't have the white dots on them!THEY FORGOT TO PUT THEM ON!at the factory in the newly made batch...!
How could they!?[
If anyone is interested I can show you said bit of factory faulty trim at the next meet it's really fascinating to see it in the flesh without the dot...[

I had the same, going back about 5 years. The texture is slightly different as well, but that could have been down to 20 years of wear I guess.
I wondered if they were 968 parts, but haven't looked to see whether the 968s don't have the white dots. [&:]
The trim parts were certainly cheap from a PC. £17 posted at the time for the bit I needed, £20 on e-bay for an old, brittle one.
