Outdoor carcoon cover -any good?

Anyone have any experience of this or a similar system, sounds to me like it may work. Currently I have a tailored cover that looks very good but has been nearly useless against the recent rain and does nothing to stop the condensation that forms on a car during winter, instead it seems to trap it on the bodywork for longer than if the car was not covered. I don't have a garage so this 'bubble' looks like the next best thing.

If you have the space and budget why not, may be a bit of a PITA to store the car each time though. Covers in my book have their uses and are better than nothing but must be kept clean and removed regularly to prevent damage to paint from abrasion, etc. OK for short spells to protect from elements but not really suitable for long term storage.

Keep the car clean, use it regularly and washing everyweek during summer and winter is helpful for preserving cars kept outside.

It looks like a great idea for those who don't have a garage and don't drive the car in winter, but have some secure space they can keep the car in, such as a back garden. I guess there aren't many ppl for which this is true but for those whom it is, they don't really have many options.

Personally I feel that normal car covers are a complete waste of time. I used to use one years back for my S2, it just trapped condensation underneath even though it was one of the swanky layered designs. Also far too much faff taking it off and then on again.

Have you figured out which size you would need? Wouldn't mind one of those myself.

Not sure of the size yet, they seem to have one width only so the length is the crucial bit. I know the length of the S2 but am now trying to work out what exotica I may realistically own in the next ten years - the carcoon is quite pricey and I have to ensure that it will fit whatever car I have, I always have a list in my head of about 10-15 desirables but cutting that down to any possibles is a purely economic exercise!

Edd- I agree with the washing regime for most cars but the Cabs are a little more delicate than that, the water tightness is good, but not good enough for sitting out unprotected in all these gales

I have been in the classic car scene for donkeys years.

From experience only through people I know who have them, carcoons are great. You get filtered circulating air which is crucial to avoid corrosion.
