Outdoor 993 C2 Coupe Waterproof car cover

Eight years later (during which it has been garaged) I have decided it's time for a full-respray, but largely because of rust coming through around the front and rear screens and a number of worm-lines appearing from new stone chips. If I'm ever going to get it resprayed I'd better do it while I'm still young enough to enjoy it. These issues impact many of our cars and I'm not convinced a car cover would have helped.
I would consider renting an underground parking space. I rent a space and cover the car.
Used several outdoor covers over the years and all had fleece type lining with elasticated corners and bodywork's been fine. Also use the cover when garaged as keeps car clean.
Advise use the underbody strap as came home on a stormy day to find the cover lifted off hovering above the car fully inflated like a UFO !
We also had the rust at the bottom corners and the official Porsche fix is replacement of the roof panel which includes the screen pillars and scuttle - the Porsche bodyshop informally recommended several classic repairers and it was fixed by removing the windscreen, cutting out rusting metalwork, then replacing cut out pieces and repainting to screen & scuttles areas. The classic repairers advised us against a full respray.Speaking as someone who kept my 993 outside for 12 years: When I decided to buy a 993 before I had anywhere for a garage I'd assumed I'd get an outside car cover. But on reading up on them the problem is that the wind moves them around (even if well tied down the wind will moved them a millimeter back and forth continuously). Unless the car is spotlessly clean every time you put the cover on, the paintwork will be sanded down by the dirty and the cover. (I've not seen this happen because reading about it caused me to just keep the car outside and not risk a cover, so I can't swear it's scientific fact). In those 12 years outside my paintwork stay in really good condition (in the sense that, toward the end I had the front end resprayed for stone chips and I could not see any difference between the resprayed panels and the original panels).

Agree with this and in particular the straps. I had the same issue in heavy wind. I use the straps in the underground car park as well.My preference to date is the classic additions soft finish outdoor cover. It looks like an indoor cover and is stretchy snug fit. They're generic covers and fit well. Should be a 10% PCGB discount code on the site.
