Out in the stix

Anyone on here from around my neck of the woods. I have yet to see another 944 around these here parts and wondered if there were anymore about. A guy a couple of miles away has a really nice 928 with another in a local garage being resprayed but he lives in Spain most of the year. I'm from South Lincs, ( Long Sutton) which is right in between the Norfolk ,Lincs, Cambs Border. Would be nice to hear from a like minded local. A deathly silence will confirm my fears.

Oooohhh, Rutland water is about 45 miles away or about an hour. Whats that all about then. ????
South of Lincoln eh, getting closer. Where abouts. Until this weekend we used to frequent Tattershall for Karting. 9 year old has decided to give up due to being a lazy little s##t.
Should of named this post Billy no mates

Help out a computer buffoon. The link doesn't really say what it is, just who's going??.
Was hoping to get it resprayed before the first social outing, paint is great but it has 25 years worth of dings that need sorting so will be coming au natrel. Booked in at the start of May

Just outside a town called Sleaford, tattershall isn't too far away, I only drove through there yesterday to take the 944 to have an oil weep sorted.

Hi Jay

There's a few of us in Stamford. I'm 944-less right now but Rob Wright and Simon (s1mdel) on here are both in Stamford too. There's another couple around here but don't come on the forum and Elliot who can sort you out with parts and stuff is in Bourne

Hi Hairy, My car came from stamford at some point in the past (F484SLF). Does anyone know it. I have met Elliot already, a very helpful chap. Tell him not to mention his new touareg on here, It seems to be a stoning offence.

Hi jaybobsdad so you think you are out in the stix, try being in East Yorkshire mate I don't even think we are on a map let alone owners of 944's or Porsches of any kind, we have the odd Ford type things out here, in black I think, the odd horse and cart for those that have a job and the rest just walk everywhere .[8|]

I'm working over in Stamford at the moment, on the new football club ground. I drive over in the work truck though :(

The Rutland gathering is an outbreak of group madness that afflicts 944 owners in February or March.

We congregate on Peterborough services on the A1 and then drive in convoy (ish) to a car park beside the Rutland Water reservoir where we kick tyres and and discuss 944s for a couple of hours. It is usually very cold and often snows. There is a cafe next to the car park which can be used for periodic defrosting and purchase of coffee.

Once we have all become thoroughly chilled, we retire to the White Horse pub in Empingham for Sunday lunch.

There are in the order of 20 944s of various flavours due to attend. The pub has space for 30 at lunch, there is currently one lunch place available.

Some picturegraphs from a previous (soggy) gathering can be seen here

That looks wet!!!. I'd be up for a run out. In the interest of not getting left out, Ill take that last place if its still available.
I love the look of those rims on that black 944, a bit different from the cookie cutters. Same wheels on mine but powdercoated silver. Last owner had them done but didn't clean up the centres. Took an hour to get the front ones off!!!!
