Orientation LED Light

Hello All,
I have a 2003 reg 986 Porsche Boxster S and have owned it for the last 4.5 years. I normally use this car when the sun is out and I want a little burn in a powerful car, so generally not in the evenings. After use I normally drive the car in the garage, switch off, take the key out, chock the rear wheel leaving the handbrake off, open the front bonnet and connect my maintenance charge to the battery, close the front bonnet up to resting it on the latch (not fully closed) and leave it unlocked and close the garage door.
However, recently with it getting darker earlier I noticed a faint red glow in the cabin after the interior light went out and found that it was this 'orientation LED light' in the interior light casing that can be set at two different light levels. It remains on for between 2-3 hours if you don't lock your car (goes out when locked). Does anybody know how long this LED should remain on in the unlocked situation?[attachment=20191216_151417 (2).jpg] [attachment=20191216_151417 (2).jpg]

John,

Sorry I can't answer your question, but if you run the battery maintenance charge cable in through the gap between the windscreen wiper panel and the top of the bonnet you can close the bonnet completely and lock the car. The gap should be big enough not to pinch the cable (it is on my 987.2 Cayman anyway).

Jeff
