Options for KMH to MPH conversion

Just wondering how people have dealt with the speedo conversion issue. I know that the clock can be dismantled and a suitable MPH guage face applied, but frankly that is a bit extreme (also not interested in getting a replacement MPH speedo) ! I am hoping that there might be a neat sticker than can simply be applied to the glass to avoid the need to remove the guage at all. On my old LHD 3.2 Carrera the previous owner had stuck small numbered stickers at strategic positions around the face, but the new RS is still as nature intended (suitably blind / sympathetic MOT tester !). I have no idea where to get numbered stickers even .........

Any bright ideas would be appreciated, a brief Google search has not turned up many leads .........

thanks,

Jamie

Thanks, that's the kind of thing, but it doesn't look to have numbers on it sadly. A full-scale guage refurb is over-kill as far as I'm concerned and way more money than I'm willling to spend, I'd rather just do the maths in my head !

MPH speedo is not a requirement for UK mot test, the last 2 lhd cars I have had I have just worked it out and remembered.

For longer runs most camera detector devices have a sat nav MPH speedo readout, chances are you will be needing one of these to avoid cameras in your RS anyhow.

jamie....just got little orange triangular pointer sticker things at the right points on the glass of the dial on my 993rs...i.e. at 40mph, 60mph, 70mph, 100mph & errrrr something else !

I have this problem.

Not that I can see the speedo between 60 and 100 anyway....

Be interested what people say....

You mean something like this! Get yourself a protracter and calculator and you can work it out from there. You need a vinyl that adheres to glass (like tax disc holder) and letter transfer set. Easy peasy [;)]

Buy a Daytek GPS speed camers detector gives accurate LCD MPH readout leave your car KMH.....they are about £70 woolies.............

I use one of these... Talex lite http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-3169.aspx bought for £70 from Tesco with electrical dept.

Fixes to the top of dashboard, powered by cigarette lighter, gives clear MPH readout in red LED (gps speed detection) and also warns of speed cameras and traffic light cameras - you can subscribe and download latest data onto it via USB cable.

REAP AUTO DESIGN will refurb just the speedo leaving the milometer still in km for authenticity, for about 100 pounds and it will be indistiguishable from a genuine speedo, as they were used for special colour new car orders by porsche cars gb anyway.they are highly recommended.
