I have started to do a bit of digging around my cars history which is a bit unknown from 87-91. I am waiting for the California DMV to get back and also was on CarFax as well... Well we like to know these things dont we !

We all know our option codes are in the boot sticker and here
http://www.964uk.com/Documents/Porsche%20Option%20Codes.pdf

I have the following codes
C80... ?
425 Rear Wiper
454 Cruise Control
474 Sports Dampers KONI
533 Alarm System
650 Removable Roof
946 Leather Front Seats

I am trying to work out what code C80 refers to...? Is this to do with the cars market perhaps... I must have missed sommit.. ! Any help would be really appreciated Cheers [;)]

Work is very interesting today again.... ! The devil makes work for idle hands [:D]

Have you tried running your VIN through here ? :

I think its the country of registration or something like that, have seen a similar thread elsewhere just recently will see if I can track it down.

Thanks for that Gents... I have a service book from another USA 944 which has C42 as teh country code .That car had been in New York so C80 definately must refer to California..

Thats a great tool Nick .. I put in my VIN and all the details came out spot on .. Really handy ! [;)]

Hello - if C80 is an option code (e.g. market model designation) then it could mean USA California. The VIN breakdown that represents Canada/US designated vehicles is below (swiped from another site). So - you should see an AA something in positions 4-6 of your VIN.
My 944 S2 is a ROW car (ZZZ) with a missing option label and VIN decoders (including PCA North America Certificate Of Authenticity) do not provide market information or any useful option information. I know it came from Japan and has lots of Japanese language stickers under the hood but thats it ....
