Morning Guys
As part of my engine rebuild I tried to source a rubber air hose yesterday from OPC. For those familiar with the turbo air plumbing, it connects the thicker metal air pipe that runs under the inlet manifold, to the little stubby metal pipe that in turn connects to the j-boot. It is about 6 inches long and has a right angle bend.
It turns out to be part number 951 110 064 04 - control line. It comes from OPC along with the thick metal hose, and a metal elbow type thing with a valve on top (valve is sold separate), and all 3 pieces connect together with jubilee clips. This can be had for £536 + vat. Quite an expensive small rubber hose []. Why on earth are 3 parts that connect with jubilee clips, being sold as one part, especially when this particular hose is prone to failure after 30 odd years.........all other parts in the entire diagram of air pipes/hoses of course are available separately as you would expect.
So I went to Pirtek so see if they had one. They didn't have anything that small with a right angle bend, and the correct diameter of rubber hose would collapse when bent at a right angle. So I've ended up with a metal braided type of hose of the correct diameter, that will bend without collapsing. It's kind of threaded looking on the inside, softish stiff I may add, so will put some PTFE tape on the metal joining surfaces to ensure a good seal before tightening the clips. A tenner all in.
If anybody has this particular hose or something similar that may fit, give me a shout!
Cheers
