Checked the car overlast night and noticed my oil was a bit low.
Couple of questions.
1. What is the best time to take a measurement with the dip?
2. What make/grade do you guys recomend

I would check it when it is stone cold just before you go out then you know it is all down in the sump. I did move my car once, about 1hr later I checked the oil and it was low I thought where the £$% had all that gone so I topped it up and went on a drive the next day I checked it again before going out and woo it was well up I had not lost the oil atall.

As for what oil this will start a debate!!!!

I have been using straight 30 from G&S I don' t race the car is a good price and I can change it every 2k for a £10. But talking to Andy Prill he has suggested 10/40 ( I will have to check that is the right one it is down in the garage at the mo) And it is a semi sinthetic.!! so hmmm I had also hear that if you want to find a leak on an engine then use semi it will flush it all out nicely all over the floor.

Any one else' s pennys worth
