oil / fuel level gauge

anyone got a spare hanging around? pref someone whos either going to the PCF weekend at Spa, Race retro or the 964 lunch at Brooklands..

mine isnt working properly (fuel is ok, oil always pinned to the top of the gauge when the ignition is on) and Im looking to do some simple trouble shooting by swapping the gauges before i start buying bits! I have a feeling its the level sender in the tank rather than the gauge, but would be good to be a bit more sure before shelling out £80 on a new one [:D]

i was thinking of pulling the sender out and moving the float arm to see if that makes a difference, but i guess if the sender is KO'ed rather than the arm being stuck that wont tell me anything, plus I'd rather not break into the oil system too many times for contamination reasons

if anyone can help id be grateful

yeah i didnt think of that... prob tell me whether the sender is working but i would have to remove it to get a sweep reading and im trying to avoid breaking into the oil system too much
might have to resort to that if no one has a spare kicking around
